Quinoa
Quinoa is a nutrient-rich grain, often called the “mother grain.”
It is a familiar ingredient in healthy diets and weight management meal plans.
When combined with hot smoked salmon and spinach, the dish becomes nutritious, light, yet still flavorful.
Ingredients
- Whole piece smoked salmon: 300 grams
- Quinoa: 200 grams
- Salt: 1/3 tsp
- Spinach: 300 grams
- Mustard sauce: 4 tbsp
Instructions
- Rinse the quinoa thoroughly, blanch with boiling water, then drain.
- Cook the quinoa according to the water ratio stated on the package. Once cooked, open the lid and gently fluff the grains.
- Wrap the smoked salmon in aluminum foil and bake at 356°F for 10 minutes.
- Quickly blanch the spinach in boiling water, then transfer to ice water to keep its green color and crisp texture.
Presentation
Place the quinoa on a plate. Add the hot smoked salmon and spinach. Serve with mustard sauce.
Notes
- Quinoa should be rinsed very thoroughly before cooking because the outer coating has a bitter taste.
- Quinoa can also be toasted and eaten with salad, milk, or fruit.
- When cooking porridge, adding a handful of quinoa also makes the dish tastier and more nutritious.
